With 150 years of experience and heritage to our name, Tarmac is a national network of local businesses. We employ around 7,000 people over more than 400 sites across the UK.

Our innovative products and solutions not only safely deliver the infrastructure needed to grow the UK economy today but also help to create a more sustainable built environment for the country’s long-term future. We have contributed to some of the UK’s biggest construction projects, including The Sainsbury Laboratory, Wembley Stadium, Heathrow Terminal 5, Blackpool Sea Defences, The Shard and London 2012.

Tarmac has a number of operational sites in Kent, including at Sevenoaks Quarry, Snodland Asphalt Plant, Hothfield Asphalt plant and Stonecastle Quarry, the latter located in Five Oak Green, near Tonbridge.

Many of our employees live in the areas in which we operate, and we take great pride in supporting local community projects and organisations.

We also partner with wildlife organisations across the UK to help deliver our restoration schemes and improve biodiversity at our sites. In Kent, we have worked closely with Kent Wildlife Trust to deliver comprehensive restoration plans at two of our former quarries, creating vibrant nature reserves at Sevenoaks and Holborough Marshes.
